Kido Learn (kidolearn.in and the Kido Learn Android app) is a learning app for young children, used together with a parent. This page says what we keep, why, and how to delete it.
What we keep
- The parent's account: email address, WhatsApp number and password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Each child's profile: the name or nickname the parent types, age, class, an animal picture and settings such as voice, speed and Hindi help.
- Learning progress: stars for finished cards, the last lesson and the days a walk was finished.
- Problem reports you send: what you write, the page and lesson card you were on, your screen size and browser, and a screenshot of the screen if you leave “Include this screenshot” ticked.
- Signing in: a session cookie, plus the IP address and browser of each sign-in, to keep the account safe.
What we do not keep
- Voice recordings. When a child taps the microphone, the recording is played back on the device and thrown away. It is never uploaded to us or anyone else.
- No advertising, no ad tracking and no selling or sharing of data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We never ask a child for personal information. Children's profiles are made by a parent.
How we use it
Only to run the app: to sign you in, to show each child their lessons and stars on any device, and to message the parent about their child's learning on WhatsApp or by email. We may also send a password reset email.
Where it is kept
On our servers, sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Lessons and audio may be saved on your device so they work offline, and progress waits on the device until it can be sent.
Microphone
Speaking cards ask for the microphone only when the child taps the microphone button. You can say no, and the lessons still work.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account, your children and all their progress at any time from Account after signing in. It is deleted straight away. How to delete your account.
